Tavo Carbone lives in his native borough of Brooklyn and these are songs he has written. Carbone is fortunate to collaborate regularly with band mates/sound sculptors JJ Beck (drums, glockenspiel, accordion), Matt Scott (bass, voice), Adele Mori (cello, voice) and Heather Sommerlad (violin, voice).
In 2007 Tavo released 2/3 Skeleton, fourteen songs recorded with many talented people in Vermont. The album combines the textures of pump organ, glockenspiel, ukulele, percussion and other instruments. Forward: Live at Greenwall Auditorium was also released that year, documenting a performance with an ensemble of seventeen. The evening's reptoire contained not only songs from 2/3 Skeleton but new songs from projects to come. In summer '07 Carbone toured for three weeks alongside Dinosaur BBQ to promote 2/3 Skeleton, followed by the four week Figure 8 winter tour- with a new band, new songs, in promotion of Forward with S. Rich & the K.N.O. In July '08, Carbone joined Philadelphia's The Extraordinaires as their solo acoustic opener on an east coast tour, procuring new material.
In New York City, Carbone, Beck, Scott, Sommerlad and Mori are currently recording their studio followup to 2/3 Skeleton, tentatively titled Horse's Mouth. The album aims to capture their live sound of late; a mixture of abrasive electric and orchestral timbres. The album will include special guests outside of the band and feature such songs as "Tumbleweeding" and "As I Climb in the Horse's Mouth", including others previewed on Forward) and recent live shows. Slated for a summer release.
